Plant and Animal Interaction Sketches
A way that animals depend on plants are for food. Another way that animals depend on plants is for shelter. Humans depend on the Coast Live Oak because it gives us fresh air with no gasses. It provides us shade and cover. Some animals that can kill the Coast Live Oak are termites. Termites kill trees by eating them. Some of the animals that make homes on the Coast Live Oak are squirrels, birds, bees, and woodpeckers. Squirrels eat nuts off of the Coast Live Oak, birds eat seeds off of the plant, bees and butterflies drink nectar off of flowers, and woodpeckers store their nuts in trees. Plants and animals depend on eachother in many different ways. -Matteo |
Laurel Sumac
People depend on Laurel Sumac because you can make drinks or food out of it. People use laurel sumac to make tea. Snakes, Mice, Lizards, and Anna's hummingbirds hide in Laurel sumac to protect them. Hawks, Vultures, and Ravens stand on the Laurel sumac and see if any animals are coming. The animal that they look for the most are mice. When they see an animal they swoop down and grab it. Laurel Sumac is important because animals eat it and they hide in it.

Lemonadeberry Plant & Animal Interactions How do we depend on plants & how do plants depend on animals like us? Have you ever wondered where the Lemonadeberry gets it’s name? Humans make it into a delicious drink that tastes a lot like lemonade & that’s where it gets it’s name. A lot of bird species including the Roadrunner like to use it too. They eat it,using it for food. In the summer the berry turns red & in the winter it turns into a flower. Hummingbirds, bees & Butterflies drink nectar from the flower. Pollen gets stuck to their legs. They go to the next flower & the pollen from the lemonadeberry flower mixes with the pollen from that flower. This helps the plant make fruit. We need fruit and vegetables to eat. Without them we'd be so hungry we’d have to eat each other to survive. We are animals. We depend on plants and plants depend on us. |
How Plants and Animals Interact
Animals need plants to live. Squirrels need trees so they could eat wall nuts. Bees need flowers and trees so they get nectar from flowers. Bees need trees to make there hives. Butterflies eat nectar from flowers, birds eat seeds from flowers, woodpeckers put their nuts in the coast live oak. Salamanders live in coast live oak. Termites eat the coast live oak. Butterflies make their homes on trees. The Cooper hawk how interacts with trees. When he looks down and sees some thing to eat he swoops down and grabs it. Animals also need plants because the plant give them fresh air. There are many ways that plants and animals depend on each other and I only shared a few of them with you.
