First, we went to Lake Hodges. What we learned at Lake Hodges was that there use to be a lake under the bridge that is there and now there is no lake under the bridge because of the drought that is in California.
Then, We went to the Natural History Museum. We learned that there are fossils that lived 75 million years ago. We also got to excavate fossils in science after we went to the Natural History Museum.
Last, we went to the Elfin Forest and the teachers gave us plants that we had to take a picture of when we when found it. We saw a lake and we got to walk across it and there were big rocks so we had to be careful not to get wet but a few of us got a little wet but a lot of us did not because we were careful. We went to three different field trips and those three field trips we went to places in nature for our project that is called how we found joy of nature.
What did we learn?
We learned that plants can become fossils. When we were at the Natural History Museum we also learned that there are fossils under our school. I learned that a lot of the land was water a long time ago. Also I learned that snails were really small and can be called gastropods.
Why our work is important?
Our work is important because we are teaching people about nature, how to take care of it, and that trees give us air and give animals homes and food. If some one came and built a store at lake hodges, they would be killing animals and using animals food to sell as human food, and they would be killing all of the trees and plants so we wouldn't have as much oxygen and we wouldn't be giving animals a place to live or hide from predators.
What is the purpose of this website?
The purpose of this website is teaching people about nature, telling them what we know, telling people not to kill plants because most plats give us oxygen or food.

We can tell them specific things we learned in our project.
We had fun hiking when we went to Lake Hodges and Elfin Forest. Also at Lake Hodges we had a ranger take us on the hike and teach us more about nature.
